What couples bring into the room.
Every relationship is unique, but many couples arrive carrying similar things. If any of these feel close to home, therapy can help.
Communication breakdowns
The same argument on repeat, feeling misheard or dismissed, or the silent treatment that stretches for days.
Trust & betrayal
Rebuilding after infidelity, secrecy, or broken promises — with structure, honesty, and time.
Emotional distance
Living like roommates — sharing a household but not an inner world, and feeling lonely even when you're together.
Gridlocked conflict
Finances, parenting, in-laws, household labour — disagreements that reflect deeper differences in values and dreams.
Intimacy concerns
Loss of closeness or affection, mismatched needs, or difficulty being vulnerable with each other.
Family & in-law boundaries
Balancing extended-family expectations — including traditional and cross-cultural ones — with your own partnership.
Life transitions
New parenthood, relocation, career shifts, illness, loss — big changes that can destabilize even strong relationships.
Premarital preparation
Exploring values, finances, family expectations, and conflict styles before they become sources of distress.
Deciding the future
A structured, pressure-free space for partners who aren't sure whether to stay together.
The relationship is the client.
Couples therapy — sometimes called couples counselling or marriage counselling — focuses on the relationship itself: the dynamics, interactions, and patterns that create challenges for both partners. My role is to hold a safe, neutral space where each of you can speak honestly without judgment or side-taking.
Together, we work to recognize the cycles you keep repeating, communicate so each of you actually feels heard, repair trust where it's been damaged, and reconnect — emotionally and practically. The goal isn't just to stop fighting; it's a relationship where both partners feel seen, valued, and supported.
Couples therapy is grounded in decades of relationship research, and it's for partnerships at every stage — dating, engaged, newly married, or decades in. Both partners are always welcome here, and no one is ever the "problem" in the room.
You won't need to explain yourself.
For many couples, culture and faith are woven into the relationship itself — family expectations, community norms, and the balancing act between tradition and your own path. As a Muslim therapist in Montreal, Sheerose offers a space where Muslim couples can talk about their relationship without having to translate their values or worry their beliefs will be misread.
That understanding extends to the particular pressures many couples in Montreal's communities navigate: intergenerational expectations, in-law dynamics, interfaith and cross-cultural relationships, and the stresses that come with building a life between cultures. Faith can be part of the conversation if you want it to be — or simply understood in the background.

Meet Sheerose.
I'm Sheerose. I work with couples to understand the patterns that shape their relationship — the cycles you fall into together, and the needs sitting underneath them. I believe every relationship has strengths that can serve as a foundation for growth, even in moments that feel uncertain or overwhelming.
My aim is a space where both partners feel genuinely heard and understood — so you can build insight, strengthen how you communicate, and navigate what's in front of you with more confidence and intention. More about Sheerose →
